New York, NY - Edward Bass, director of the upcoming film 'BELLE' announced today that his company, Edward Bass Films, has opted not to move ahead with their film 'Ponzi.' The decision was based on recent reports that Oscar-winning director Milos Foreman is in talks to chronicle the original con artist, Charles Ponzi, in an upcoming film based on Mitchell Zuckoff's book "Ponzi's Scheme: The True Story of a Financial Legend."
"I was very passionate about 'Ponzi', so of course I'm disappointed. However, I have a lot of respect for Milos. He always tells a great story and I'm sure he will do an amazing job telling this one."

Instead Bass' Company will focus on moving ahead with the production of their film 'Born In the USA,' a story about a country spinning out of control after the hidden truth about the President's origin of birth is revealed.
"We have already begun shooting the documentary, which will serve as a blue print for the feature film. Both will explore possible answers to some very interesting questions. If the current Presidency was null and void, would legislation passed during that time also be null and void? Would that ficticious next President be considered the 45th or 46th President?"

Bass admits that he was a little hesitant to move ahead with the project at first, but due to the White House's recent release of President Obama's birth certificate, he is more at ease with his decision.
"It was a sign, my motive is not to make any unfounded implications or add more fuel to Donald Trump's fire. It's simply to take a look at the classic 'What if?' scenario, one that I think makes for a very interesting and entertaining movie."
