Edward Bass accepting the Circle of Excellence Award
While attending the Edward Bass Film School, I was able to truly involve myself to all aspects of production. I was glad to hear the program held equal focus on each element of filmmaking, from pre-production, production, and the post works.
The Producer’s Workshop discussed the essentials of the producers job. We learned the basic of casting, ways to raise funds for the project and marketing tactics.
The Lighting Workshop really helped us understand the different effects for each methods of lighting. We were taught quick three point light set-ups to more elaborate lighting designs. We created low-key, high-key and contrasting lighting designs for sample shoots to test our newly obtained skills.
The Filmmaking Workshops gave us plenty of projects throughout the courses. For each projects, we were given a clear objective to convey with the film. Through hands-on shooting techniques, we were taught how to give good direction, hone our decision making process and understand to work behind the craft.
In The Post-Production, we worked in-depth on programs such as AVID, Final Cut, and After Effects.
The best part of the Edward Bass Film School would be the amount of involvement you have in next project. The instructors are really hands on and truly want you to understand the craft of filmmaking. All of the course were really beneficial to me and are still useful to me working in the industry.
